The Ruler of Coin and Bone

"No laughter rang through the stone halls of Brüzhald any more. No heat came from the long-dead forges. The only warmth came from the soft glow of the gem floating above Gurbrak's crown. He had taken all for himself, had crushed every shred of resistance. Orcs and elves and dwarves alike were crushed under his boot. No one remained but Gurbrak in this once-glorious mountain kingdom. He had conquered and claimed his throne, surrounding himself with his silent subjects. A ruler of coin and bone."

I had a lot of fun with this one. This is one of those ideas where the way I wanted it to look was pretty much immediately decided. Staring at the camera. Defiant but calm. Strong. So my preliminary work was all about getting the pose, how he sits his throne, to look right. After that, it was all icing on the cake. I hope you guys enjoy it. More soon!
